Apply to Join the Programme

After launching the programme in London in 2014, the programme has expanded across the country, with trainees placed in London and the South East, Central England, the Midlands, the South West, the North West and North East.

**Applications Update**

We have now closed applications for the 2016 intake. Applications will re-open in early autumn 2016 for placements starting August 2017. If you would like to be kept up to date on the next recruitment cycle, please complete our form here. For any questions or queries, please contact [email protected].

Eligibility: Applications are open to researchers who have already completed their doctorate, or will have done so by Monday 15th August 2016. Furthermore, candidates must also have a grade C (or equivalent) in GCSE English and Maths and be eligible to work in the UK full-time between 1st September 2016 and there on for the duration of the course.

If you are an international student (either EU or non-EU), you will need to obtain a statement of comparability should you not hold GCSEs. This can be obtained through UK NARIC.

We invite international candidates to submit an application but be aware that it will be the placement school who provides visa sponsorship and some of our partners aren’t able to support this process. If you require visa sponsorship, this will need to be discussed when you attend the assessment centre, should your application be successful.

Subjects: We have availability in a range of subjects including:

  • Mathematics*
  • Science (Physics*, Chemistry and Biology)
  • Humanities (English, Geography and Modern Foreign Languages)
  • Computing

* Trainees in shortage subjects are eligible for a salary enhancement package through the government-supported ‘Salary Uplift Programme’, with a desirable salary and benefits package.
